Vidya Balan refuses liplock with co-star Arshad Warsi

After her kiss with Madhavan in Guru, Vidya Balan seems to have developed cold feet to the idea of puckering up to another co-star. The actress has put her foot down and said no to a liplock with Arshad Warsi in Ishqiya.

A source from the unit reveals, "Ishqiya was being shot on Wednesday at the Borivili National Park. Several scenes were to be canned, including one smooch scene between Vidya and Arshad. The actress threw a spanner in the works and completely refused to a liplock with Arshad. Director Abhishek Chaubey was taken aback as he had informed Vidya about the kissing scene beforehand."

The source continues, "Balan has intimate scenes with Arshad in the film but her refusal to smooch shocked everyone. Producer Vishal Bhardwaj was called to the sets. He couldn't make it as he was busy editing his other project, Kaminey. She was persistent. The director was forced to drop it altogether."

It is learnt that Vishal will be meeting Vidya to discuss her reservations for not enacting the scene. The source maintains, "Abhishek is sure that once she speaks to Vishal, she will do the scene. She has been co-operative throughout the shoot. It's surprising that she did steamy scenes but refused to smooch Arshad."

Co-producer Mansi Maroo maintains, "I was present on the sets and nothing like this happened. Vidya is informed about any and all scenes in advance."

Vidya Balan goes Hot: Does intimate scenes

Vidya Balan has given some really intimate scenes in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Ishkiyan. All her hot scenes in the film are with Arshad Warsi. Vidya play’s a slightly grey character in the film who fools the uncle-nephew jodi of Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi. A unit source reveals, “She indeed has quiet a few hot love making sequences in the film but the scenes have been aesthetically shot. Vishal Bharadwaj is simply too glad with the way the actress has performed her act in the film without any inhibitions. But this is not the first time that the actress has done such scenes. She had been sensuous in her debut venture Parineeta earlier as well and in Heyy Babyy too with Akshay Kumar.” In Ishkiyan Vidya is playing a very complex character and will be seen speaking the U.P dialect which is very akin to Vishal Bharadwaj’s movies. She also has a very different look in the film. She will certainly take away accolades after the release reveal unit sources. Vidya’s career too seems to be on an all new high now. It has been heard that the actress has also been signed for Nikhil Advani's Chandbhai opposite Akshay Kumar. The film is a tough love story set in a juvenile detention facility. She will also be seen working with two legendary actors - Naseeruddin Shah in Ishqiyan and Amitabh Bachchan in Balki’s Pa and Sanjay Leela’s Chenab Gandhi.

I'm dying to work with Aamir: Vidya Balan

The graceful Vidya Balan who turned a year older on January 1, has turned a new leaf. After her abortive attempts to revamp her wardrobe in Heyy Baby and Kismat Connection Vidya has decided to go easy on the glam ramp. "It's not as though I'm disowning my efforts to do glamorous roles. I'm proud of Heyy Baby and Kismat Connection. But this year I'm doing films that don't need me to stretch my personality. I'm very happy doing roles that come naturally to me. That's what I decided about my career this year." Vidya has just given the nod to Nikhil (Chandni Chowk To China) Advani's next film which would surprise many. Advani's Chand Bhai is a raw realistic songless film on juvenile delinquency. Says Vidya, "It's nothing like the high-flying glam-wham stuff that one expects from Nikhil after Chandni Chowk. Chand Bhai is a stark very real kind of drama. And I get to co-star with a very talented actor Akshaye Khanna with whom I was in Nikhil's Salaam-e-Ishq though we had just one passing shot together." Vidya gladly admits Chand Bhai doesn't feature her in the central role. "The film revolves around the delinquent boy's character. But I'm very happy to be part of a film that addresses itself an important social issue. This year I think I'm done with searching for various bylanes to my screen identity. All my forthcoming films have a sharp sense of social purpose, and that definitely includes Vibhu Puri's Chenab Gandhi which I'm enormously excited about because it's produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali." Vidya has been attending costume and reading sessions for Chenab Gandhi and is spellbound by the script. "But I haven't really interacted that much with my co-star Hurman as yet. With Mr Bachchan who plays the title role, I share a lifelong bonding. Right from Eklavya we've been paired in so many films right up to Chenab Gandhi and now Balki's Pa. If I did all the films last year that I was offered with Mr Bachchan I wouldn't be working with anyone else, " says Vidya, adding she's excited to work with Abhishek Bachchan for the first time in Pa. "We've never been paired together.It would be interesting to have another interesting co-star to work with, " says Vidya who went to Panchgani for her birthday this year, with her parents, sister and brother-in-law. "It's very rare for all five of us in the family to be together. My birthday falls on a very unforgettable day, the New Year. It's preceded by Christmas, so we all take time off to be together. Another advantage of being born on the first day of the year is, no one can claim to forget your birthday, " she says with loud laughter. Vidya recently saw Ghajini and was bowled over by Aamir Khan. "I'm dying to work with Aamir. And Shah Rukh of course is my favourite. I said on Sajid Khan's chat show I want to kill Shah Rukh's wife. No one took me seriously. There was no enhancement in the security around her. Sad."

Vidya: Mean with men and machines!

Vids could well drive the boys crazy with her dusky beauty and sex-appeal (so what if she’s nowhere close to size zero, our desi men like all
kinds, no?).

But ask her to really drive, we mean drive a four-wheeler mean machine, and the gal pushes the panic button. The lovely Vids fears driving more than anything else. Apparently many years ago, while she was at the wheel, she crashed into a truck and narrowly escaped disaster. And for years nothing could bring her out of her ‘drive-o-phobia’; Vidya Balan would rather sit on KJo’s hot-seat everyday, than take charge of some swanky hot wheels. Such was her fear. Until now, of course. For her movie, Ishqiya, a scene demanded that she had to be on the driver’s seat; and no, she wasn’t allowed to ghumao the audiences with a body-double.

Goodluck to the brave men, this is sure gonna be one helluva ride. As for Vids, we gotto tell you this babe, you’ve to be fast ‘n furious with both men and machines. How Vidya Balan ditched Sooraj Barjatya

Vidya Balan ditched Sooraj Barjatya at the last minute. This may sound shocking but it is actually true! Rajshri Productions' Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi was to star Vidya Balan in the lead opposite Bobby Deol originally. But now the November 7th releasing film has Eesha Koppikar along with Sonu Sood playing the main lead. So what went wrong? Our sources revealed, "Sooraj Barjatya had approached Bobby Deol and Vidya Balan for his written film Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi being directed by debutante Kaushik Ghatak. They both had given their consent for the film. But then though Bobby initially found the family oriented subject appealing, as the days progressed he developed cold feet. He excused himself out of the film citing dates problem. Sooraj had hoped that he would find a suitable actor in the A list to play the romantic lead opposite Vidya. But as that didn't look to materialise, Vidya chickened out of the project preferring to do Kismat Konection along with Shahid. Sooraj was then left with no option but to rope in small names like Eesha Koppikar and Sonu Sood to stop the film getting stalled even before it was about to be shot!" It looks a remote possibility that Sooraj Barjatya will now ever approach either Vidya Balan or Bobby Deol to star in any of his Rajshri banner films!

Vidya Balan has a problem with John Abraham?

The latest is that Vidya Balan has walked out of a David Dhawan film. A source has reportedly said, "Vidya is not doing UTV's 'Hook Ya Crook'. Vidya felt that after 'Salaam-E-Ishq', she and John needed to do a film which had substantial roles for both. She had reservations as Dhawan's heroines don't have much to do except sing, dance and look glamorous. She voiced her concern to the director who promised to make changes in her role. Vidya wants to do more women-oriented roles. As she didn't want to upset David, she quietly opted out though the producer and David are insisting that Vidya is still doing it." Vidya's spokesperson insists that she's not doing the movie because of the date issues. But the buzz is that it's because of the presence of lead actor John Abraham! Looks like this has a lot to to do with the rumours of the linkup between the two on the sets of 'Salaam-E-Ishq'! Maybe Vidya isn't game for controversies anymore!
