Lara and Katrina turn down Govinda

Akshay and Katrina are such good friends that Katrina agreed to be his arm candy in De Dana Dan. However, she doesn’t share the same equation with her Partner co-star Govinda.

Govinda has had two flop films, Chal Chala Chal and Money Hain Toh Honey Hain. His last hit was Partner in 2007.

Obviously, he has high expectations from Life Partner which is produced by Abbas Mustan and directed by Rumi Jaffrey. He is the only senior member in the cast that comprises Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Genelia D’Souza and Prachi Desai. All these actors don’t have star power as such. So for a promotional song, Govinda tried to his influence and contacts to rope in Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif but they both refused. The two actresses appeared on Koffee with Karan together and were last seen with Chi Chi in Partner. Also, Govinda is a good friend of Salman. He thought Katrina would agree because of the Salman connection but she refused citing date issues. Over the past month, she was busy with New York promotions, post production for Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani, a few endorsement events and then she left for Europe to celebrate her birthday. Katrina has never done item songs, anyway. She wants to be seen as a serious actress so why would she do item songs?

Lara Dutta who has also done the upcoming Do Knot Disturb and Banda yeh Bindaas Hai with Chi Chi refused citing date problems. She is currently in London shooting for Sajid Khan’s Housefull. The last item song Lara did was Aisa Jadoo Daala Re in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Khakee in 2004. It was a big hit. She was also part of Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi as no smart person would refuse SRK and YRF. The song is quite popular.

Since these ladies refused the song, they had to rope in wannabe hottie Amrita Rao of Shortkut (fame?) to do the item number. The music of Life Partner is not a rage at all.

What can we say, Govinda’s career is on the downslide and no one wants to work with a fallen star. And everyone isn’t as lucky and powerful as Shah Rukh Khan to get three stars for three different item songs as he did with Kareena, Priyanka and Deepika in Billu. Our advice to Chi Chi would be to do more films with David Dhawan and Salman Khan and lose some weight to get his career back on track.

Lara's grateful to Akshay!

Lara Dutta made her debut with Andaaz that starred Akshay Kumar and looks like the hottie has been a fan of Akki since then.

When Akki approached her to lend her voice for the animation film Jumbo, she readily agreed to do it. “Yes, that was a major factor. Akshay, though a major star, didn’t mind working with a newcomer. He didn’t hesitate to work with me when I was making my debut. We have done many films after that and he has been a fantastic co-star.”

Akki, whose been through a little rough patch of late, would be happy to know that he still has many fans left.

What's BUZZING in Bollywood

Of painting the town red, lovely looking ladies and few good looking men.

Happy Threesome
Adhyayan Suman was flanked by his co-stars of Jashnn, Anjana Sukhani and Shahana Goswami. He announced the launch of his website so he can interact with his growing number of fans. We really like Shahana’s chic dressing style. Her bright shirt suits her really well complimenting her skin perfectly. We wish Anjana dressed with a little more seriousness and looked less like a college girl. Adhyayan should button up!

Not Tedha Medha
Gul Panag is the centre of attention at the premiere of her film Straight. While she looks as pretty as ever; with her glowing skin and pretty white dress, why is Vinay Pathak sporting the scruffy look? We like Anuj Choudhry’s casual look.

New couple
Aftab Shivdasani and Aamna Shariff make their red carpet entry for the premiere of Aloo Chaat. We like Aamna’s soft pink shaded dress and her clutch compliments her gown well. Aftab should have chosen something lighter and not so shiny.

Sexy In A Sari
The three gorgeous ladies, Shahana Goswami, Nandita Das and Tisca Chopra, strike a pose for Das’ directorial debut, Firaaq. We are pleasantly surprised by the glow on Tisca’s face. Her earrings are big and beautiful too. Nandita’s bright pink sari blouse suits her perfectly. Shahana could not look better!

Lady in Red
Asin is the woman of the hour! She is the brand ambassador of a fairness cream. We love her piercing red satin dress and those lovely intense red peep toes. If only the background wasn’t as red, it would not have hurt out eyes!

Lara Dutta’s modest avatar!

Lara Dutta’s oomphalicious looks in her forthcoming film Blue are already becoming the talk of tinselville. And with good reason.

Those who’ve seen the promos swear by her sizzling hot avatar. And director Anthony D’Souza credits it completely to the Bollywood actress. “Once we explained the required look to Lara, she just gave it her 100 per cent. She was really determined and regular with her work outs and diets,” he revealed. However, Lara on her part prefers to be modest about it. “Well, the role required me to be really fit and I just concentrated on that,” added Lara. Well, it’s not surprising then that the compliments flowing your way too seem to ‘fit’ you completely.

Lara and Dino keep mum

They might not be as comfortable as Saif-Kareena and Ranbir- Deepika to reveal details of their love life but it seems Dino Morea and Lara Dutta are deeply in love. There were rumours that the couple had moved in together which they later denied. The buzz is that though they do spend a lot of time together, they do not live together. Lara stays at her apartment and Dino lives in a bungalow nearby. Rumour has it that since their previous relationships didn't work out; they have decided to keep a low profile. By the way, Lara was living in for many years with her ex boyfriend Kelly Dorji. Dino Morea and Lara's ex were best friends. After Lara and Kelly's breakup, she chose friend Dino for emotional support. They reportedly fell in love; have been out on the social circuit and are even traveling the world together. In between there were talks too that they had fallen apart but nothing is clear. The word is that they would rather want people to pay attention to their respective careers and not their relationship. If only they had happening careers it would have been far easier for us to do that!

Lara Dutta does the hot thing!

Lara Dutta seems to have got completely carried away by the new found hot image and the comparisons with 'the sexiest women in the world' Megan Fox, on the sets of 'Blue'. The buzz is that she has got a rose tattoo done while shooting for the underwater adventure co-starring Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar in Thailand. Well, the word is that Kinng Akki plans to promote her too. So doing the hot thing has been of use, it seems! Lara stumbled upon a tattoo design of a rose with a Maori symbol and decided to get it inked on her right ankle. She says, "As soon as I saw this one, I completely fell in love with it and knew that this was going to be it. The pain was worth it because the tattoo artist did a magnificent job." Hot girls have tattoos. After all, Megan has lots of them too. Should we take it like that, Lara?
