When the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ girl Freida Pinto expressed her wish to work with Bollywood’s realistic moviemaker, Madhur Bhandarkar, the latter was so flattered with the lady’s desire that he said that he would “love to work with her”.

“I’m quite flattered to hear Freida wants to work with me. I think she is aware of my female-oriented cinema. She must have seen the performances that Tabu and Konkona Sen Sharma gave in Chandni Bar and Page 3. I’d love to work with Freida,” Bhandarkar said.

“Today, I’m at a stage where an actress of Freida’s international popularity singles me out. I guess I must’ve done something right in these 10 years as a director. Can you imagine the kind of potboilers I’d be making if my first film Trishakti had clicked?”

Reportedly, Miss Pinto had expressed this heartfelt desire of hers in an interview to the international press where she said that she would do a Bollywood film only if it was a Bhandarkar film.

Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto has come out and spoken for the first time about her friendship with co-star Dev Patel saying it has become stronger. The pair have been seen cuddling up in Israel and were also spotted shopping for a ring in London since the Oscar-winning film was released. Freida, 24, has now called 19-year-old Dev “a lovely boy”. "The friendship blossomed after the film, it got even stronger. This is all new to us," she added.

Dev and Freida (pictured above) have always denied their movie romance spilled over into real life. But their pictures enjoying an intimate lunch date in Israel last week raised eyebrows, reports mirror.co.uk.

"First it was the film and now everything else seems to have slotted into place. Life can't get any better for him. Freida is really beautiful and I am really happy for them. Yes, we knew he was flying to Israel to see her," Dev's mother Anita Patel said.

They grew up in the slums of Mumbai, and one lucky break got them a trip to Los Angeles, a walk down the most glamorous red carpet, and a trip to Disneyland. After a whirlwind trip to Hollywood, 10 year-old Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail and his nine-year-old co-star Rubina Ali returned to Mumbai as movie stars only to be depressed about their current living situations. "I don't want to sleep on the floor anymore. I want a proper bed and live where the air does not smell of poo. I have seen what it is like in America. Here, there is garbage everywhere, people get angry, swear and shout. I have realized how bad life is here. I just want to get out, " Rubina declared when she returned. Hollyscoop caught up with Anil Kapoor from the Oscar winning movie to get his thoughts on the how the success of the movie will impact the young stars. "I spoke to all the parents over there, I told them they shouldn't focus on getting the children more roles, but focus on education instead, " Kapoor told Hollyscoop during an exclusive one-on-one interview at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
